Project - Shelter

When Rohingya refugees first arrived in Bangladesh in August 2017, refugees built makeshift shelters from locally procured bamboo and sheeting.

To protect their shelters from monsoon flooding and landslides, shelters need upgrade kits and monsoon preparation.

Shelter kits include bamboo poles, rope, plastic tarps and tools needed to build safer structures. The monsoon preparation kits help families anchor their homes against the powerful monsoon rains.

Emergency appeal for Rohingya fire victims

We urgently need your support to deliver emergency clothes, tents and reconstruct shelters to help Rohingya refugees who lost all their belongings and homes to a fire on March 22, 2021. Hundreds of families have been separated, houses burnt down and children are living without shelter and proper clothing.

We are raising money to provide emergency clothing and shelter reconstruction for the 50,000+ Rohingya refugees displaced in the fire. Over 15 people died and 560 people were injured in Camps 8W, 8E, 9, and 10. The Unforgotten Fund is partnering with Global One who is already providing emergency clothing to 105 families this weekend but we need your support to continue providing aid.

Please consider making a donation by using either the GoFundMe Campaign or our Donation Page.

1 Family Clothing Package (includes clothes for four family members) = $66

1 Shelter Reconstruction = $690

The cost estimates have been provided by the Camp in Charge (CiC).

Thanks much for your consideration.
